Description
What Is Magic Mug Printing?
Magic mug printing uses a heat-sensitive coating that keeps the mug dark when cold, then turns clear when a hot drink is poured in to reveal your printed photo or message. Printhub.lk prints magic mugs at our Mount Lavinia outlet as personalised gifts for birthdays, anniversaries and surprises across Sri Lanka.
How Do Colour Changing Mugs Work?
The outer coating is thermochromic: its colour changes with temperature. Your design is printed underneath, hidden while the mug is at room temperature. As hot coffee or tea warms the ceramic, the coating fades and the image appears, then disappears again as the mug cools.
What Should You Print on a Magic Mug?
- Photographs: a family picture or a couple’s photo for an emotional reveal.
- Messages: a birthday wish, a proposal or an inside joke.
- Logos: a novelty promotional item people remember.
High-contrast images work best, because the reveal is gradual and bold designs show earliest.
How Do You Care for a Magic Mug?
Hand wash gently. Dishwashers, microwaves and abrasive scrubbers damage the heat-sensitive coating, so heat the drink separately and pour it in. Treated with care, the effect lasts through regular use.
